They have over 15000 water, waste treatment, and purification plants across India and the globe, processing 14,000 Million Litres of water per day. Their initiatives include SMAAT Zone, SMAAT Community Water Centre, and Saqua Packaged Drinking Water, which ensure safe drinking and utility water throughout the country.

Problem

Today, India suffers societal and economic losses more than the global average due to the lack of appropriate access to clean water that causes severe waterborne diseases. There is rarely any source of clean water supply in rural and urban areas of the country, which lead to poor sanitation, health problems, and poverty. Limited water access in rural regions directly impedes children’s possibility of receiving an education because they have an added burden of carrying the water home and indulging in undesired labour.
