Rural small businesses need better marketing strategies to survive. With pre-existing vulnerabilities, they lack adequate access to capital and marketing and are concentrated mainly in industries most immediately vulnerable to market effects.

Social Impact

Upasana arranges its fabrics according to the different states of India. By going to one state yearly to research and study and get that fabric, they hope to have all 29 states represented in their designs. The brand tries to revive the traditional fabrics of the country, which cannot be easily obtained as they are produced in small villages. Upasana saves the dying art of making local by bringing them to the market. They help the small villages to get the materials to the market.

Solution

Upasana is a conscious clothing circle designed to shift how the self is perceived. It aims to fulfil our responsibility towards the multi-dimensional needs of society through the process of integral design. Upasana believes India only needs a platform to showcase its unique talent in preserving our vast legacy and a wide variety of textiles through ethical practices, sustainable processes, and handloom heritage methods for holistic wellness.
