A country’s economic growth depends on various parameters, including natural resources, technology, capital, and a prolific workforce. Such a force is only achievable through quality education. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, India’s economic development remains low due to gender inequality, poor teacher-student ratio, lack of infrastructure, expensive higher education, and insufficient practical knowledge, especially in rural India,
Barefoot College International excels in providing opportunities to ensure global long-term economic and social resilience for various rural communities.
Barefoot College International arranges an abundance of vocational and educational opportunities for women and girls from the most marginalised communities in India. They deliver curriculums that build agency, digital and IT literacy, and essential knowledge for the villagers’ value chains. Once Barefoot College understands the communities’ sustainable capacity for output, they facilitate market linkages such that these women can incur sales at a village, regional, national or export level.
