Muskaan Dreams

Bridging the digital divide in Government schools

Social Impact

In 2017, Muskaan Dreams started their journey with one school in one district of Madhya Pradesh, and they are committed to making India’s Government schools digital-ready for the futuristic world.

  • Working with 100+ schools in India
  • Spread across 4 districts in central India

Solution

Muskaan Dreams works in collaboration with the Government and youth volunteers from the community to build digital highways in government schools by enabling digital resources inside the classrooms. Parallelly, their Army of Tech volunteers helps teachers use digital resources to improve their students' learning experience and exposure. Muskaan Dreams has three major programmes; Digital Classrooms, Teacher Capacity Building, and Youth Volunteers. These programmes help introduce students to modern ways of learning through audio-visual aids. It makes learning fun, helps students better understand the subject and creates a long-term impact in their minds to retain the knowledge.

Problem

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “True education must correspond to the surrounding circumstances, or it is not a healthy growth”. These words reflect the continual need for the Indian education system to upgrade and evolve with time and market demands. Even today, a significant population of rural India continues to fall short of the required internet bandwidth and knowledge to recognise devices and digital terminologies. Providing these students with the necessary digital devices has become more vital than ever.
